 Anyone writing?
Here's a thread to discuss any fics you have in the works. Throw some ideas out there, nurture some plot bunnies, get some feedback, take suggestions, all of it.
I've got a big epic in the works, but I'll have to go into it a bit later, as I don't have the time to discuss it, at the moment. So, I'll leave one question... Who's Minister of Magic at the time of the Epilogue? I'm currently leaning towards Arthur Weasley, imposing Weasley Family Values on the British magical community. But, anyone have any better ideas? Or, if they like the idea, some thoughts and suggestions on a Weasley Administration?
And, what do you folks have in the works, fic-wise?

Arthur really doesn't strike me as the type. He likes working with Muggle artifacts too much.
I'm thinking Kingsley Shacklebolt. He seems pretty together.

Kingsley would be my bet too -- didn't they mention him as being acting Minister for Magic in TDH? I might be wrong there...
I've currently got a H/L "missing moment" fic set in TDH in the works, I hope to have it up tonight, with any luck

I'm musing on a bunny where Ginny dies in CoS and meets Luna in PoA. In that regard, it certainly would ruin her purpose of coming to OotP but hey, fanfic is fanfic.
Another one is pretty much just ignoring the epilogue. I think it will definitely deal with issues I thought JKR handled horribly and relationships will develop and stuff.
Draco/Luna!
Dean/Luna!
Neville/Luna!
XD I'm really wanting to see a good post-TDH AU of Neville being the chose one and how it changes EVERYTHING.

Dies and then meets Luna? Would that be ghost!Ginny? Because if so, that sounds TOTALLY AWESOME.

I was thinking in terms of Harry, Mr. No Growth Over The Last 20 Years, being all "All is well". What would he consider an ideal wizarding world? Why, one where the Weasleys are in charge, of course, because the Weasleys are perfect and can do no wrong. Yes, it's the Burrow on a grand scale, where Molly now has all of wizarding Britain to treat as she does her family... Yes, it's a truly nightmarish place for a lot of folks who aren't the Trio. The problem with Kingsley is I think he'd disapprove of Harry's fondness for Unforgivables. By this point, he and Hermione have had nearly two decades of being exactly the same people they were going into the last battle with Tom. We've gone over Harry's issues which JKR failed to address or resolve, but Hermione's little better. I think the memory rape of her parents should have gotten her a little scolding, at least. I'll be doing a different take on Dark!Harry that what people usually do. No Dark Lord stuff, here. This will be what 20 years of distraction and not dealing, 20 years of having his worst traits encouraged, are going to do to him, without his spiritual guide and conscience, who's slowly but steadily been separated from him over the years, and is now pretty much in exile. As I'm planning for it to be part of a series spanning from Tom's early years to the next great wizarding war (No, Harry, all is not well, as you're about to learn), I need a title to serve as an umbrella for all the stories. I'm currently leaning towards either Muses, Queens, and Goddesses or Fairy Tales. Both fit. Which sounds better? Cool! Looking forward to reading it.
I think Bronwen meant Harry meets Luna, but yeah, that'd be cool, too. Luna building a harem?
Luna: Well, that would certainly be enjoyable. Can I have Hermione?
Edit: Think I will go with Kingsley as Minister, since I'm having Jim Hacker (of classic BBC series Yes, Minister and Yes, Prime Minister fame) as Prime Minister during the last two years of the Voldemort War. He and Arthur sharing a scene might be a bit too much for even me to write.

Ah, I love the idea for this thread!
I am currently working on a huge fanfic project that I started planning way back in November/December of 2005. The link is in my signature. I slowed down my writing as TDH approached, thinking that if we get more info on Tom, I don't want it to clash with anything that I had already written. Yes, it's AU, but it's also canon compatible.
I was a bit disappointed we didn't get to see the souls in the Horcruxes interact with the Trio more, but the good news is that it leaves me with more freedom in KMS when the other pieces of Tom's soul come into being (seven Toms running wild in Britain - oh my!) While I read the book, I was actually also making mental notes on how to make KMS compatible with TDH. I think I'm obsessed with my own fanfic than with the HP series...maybe because the last book failed on so many levels and I know that the moral of KMS's ending is better? *shrugs*
Anyhow, right now I'm in the editing stage. I decided to not do JKR's mistake. I have to go back and reread my own story (ouch, all those pages I printed out...) I'm also trying to see how I can get around certain issues that did show up in the book.
- Grindelwald -- so, he's alive all this time. But in KMS I said that Dumbledore killed him in the final battle. How to go around that? I guess I could say that textbooks lied about Grindelwald's fate for the sake of protecting the real man, who's still in prison, from Voldemort. Oh, poor Grindelwald...what will he think when he learns that his wife killed herself to protect the secrecy of their home?
- on that same note, what about Grindelwald's manor? Grindelwald did not live in England according to TDH, but he has a manor in KMS. I guess I could say that he had two homes, one in England, one in his own country. The one in England he used for the summer...or it was where he did most of his research.
I may need to talk with my beta about this...
Um...what else did I have a problem with...I know that there are people here who've read my fic. Any thoughts and/or ideas? I'd love some suggestions. If I have more problems, I'll post them here too.

Okay, I have a little plot bunny that is going through my head. It takes place post DH, pre Epilogue.
In order for Harry and Ron to enter the Auror Academy they must complete their seventh year at Hogwarts and take their NEWTS. Hermione joins them. Luna, although she never finished sixth year, has taken some correspondence courses over the summer and is moved up to seventh year as well. Ginny does not return to school, but rather tries out for the all women Quidditch team and is picked up as an alternate. Neville was able to take his NEWTs and is now working in a magical greenhouse somewhere.
With Hermione and Ron a couple and Ginny gone. Harry finds himself spending an awful lot of time with our favorite Ravenclaw. We find out exactly why Harry ends up married to Ginny nineteen years later, but also who he really wanted to be with after he defeated LV.
Okay thats the plot bunny. Anyone want to write it for me?
On a side note; I also think Kingsley becomes MoM. And one of the most popular ones the Ministry has ever had.

I'm still working on Mirror of Dean and another H/L that I started before TDH. I also have a Harry/Tonks that I started right after HBP that's AU as well.
I started a Dean/Luna fic today...that's going well. It's more gen than anything, I think.
Basically, Ginny died in childbirth with their fourth child (who died as well), and Harry remembers that she had once said that Dean used to sketch her all the time, though never naked. He runs into Dean and Luna in Diagon alley a year afterwords, and he goes home with them for tea. He gets an insight into just how Dean and Luna live and what could have been for him and Luna had he not married Ginny. He accidentally see's Dean's most recent picture of Luna, and is floored, because he's never seen her like that. Dean catches him, and he and Harry have a long man-to-man talk about life and love.
Harry learns to get on with his life, feeling a bittersweet hopefullness for the the future.
Mostly I've been working on my own original story, planning storylines and characters and such. I really like all my characters, and I've been working on it constantly for nearly a week now.

Ivy your fic sounds fantastic. I can't wait for you to finish it.
I think my favorite post DH fics, especially H/L fics, are going to be the dead Ginny ones.

Ahaha. Yes, perceval is right but it occurred to me that it would also be interesting if Ginny defends Luna while a ghost. She's invisible to everyone but Luna and there's a little scene in my head where Harry meets Luna for the first time and thought she was literally insane because she's talking to...well...air...
And further more I've got a bunch of scenes where whenever Luna gets teased and whatnot, something 'bad' happens to the bully and Harry sees it and thinks Luna is powerful but it's actually Ginny doing all the bad things to the bullies. The fic in mind definitely furthers a threeway relationship between Luna/Ginny/Harry in whatever formation.
XD I just read a very hot fic of Luna seducing Draco, Harry and Ginny. Luna harem is the most awesomest idea ever.

Well, if Ginny was killed in the chamber, I actually think it makes A LOT of sense for her to come back as a ghost, because she has a ton of unfinished business, you know? Now I want to read that fic. xD

More things I'm having to work out, so any advice or suggestions are appreciated...
For one thing, I need to work out how old Xeno is. I'm thinking older than most of the parents, because of the white hair. The white hair would be the only real physical sign of advanced age, because he's aged well.
Tom... At what point did he learn of the existence of the Deathly Hallows? On the one hand, it seems he knew nothing about them since he made the ring into a horcrux, but on the other he was obsessed with the Elder Wand, so... Could he have known what the ring was and made it into a horcrux anyway, to bind it to him?

I thought Voldemort didn't know about the Horcruxes. He only knew about the "Elder Wand" because it turned up several times in Wizarding history, I think.

He had to know about the Horcruxes -- he made them.
Unless you mean the Hallows?
