Finally started that post-DH Luna-centric fic I've been plotting. I'm using bits from some old abandoned fics that I'd planned to re-write, anyway. Lots of crossover elements, but everybody will have an idea who these other people are, and I'll fill in whatever background and elements HP readers might not be familiar with. Had to do a lot of disclaimers for the creators of HP, Buffy, Alice, and Oz. Oh, and the beagle with the typewriter.

The plot: All is well, or so Harry Potter thinks. Unfortunately for him, the wizarding world is on the brink of it's next great war. Tensions between the wizards and the Fae are at their breaking point. And, the Fae have had many years in which to plan. At the heart of the conflict is someone who Harry once considered a friend, someone who was a heroine of the Voldemort War, someone who he let be pushed out of his life by his in-laws. Now, she's back...

A five-way crossover? Damn, that's ambitious!

Thanks. The reason it's a multicrossover instead of just HP/BtVS was I knew I'd need to populate the various Fairylands and go into how they've developed over the centuries, and decided it'd be fun to not just use ones from mythology, but from literature, as well. It's very meta, I know, but I thought it'd be fun to have the Fairylands evolve as they've evolved in the culture, from the myths and folk traditions to Fairy Tales to modern fantasy literature. It'll be the Secret History of the Wizarding World.

I left my review at FF.net, but to say the very least, it has an excellent beginning.

By the way, with something this ambitious you should be rich!

Thanks. The next chapter may wind up being a bit long. It goes into the wizards' side of their long standing argument with the Fae, but since it's from Hermione's perspective (Hermione still being Exposition Girl) it'll also go into what she's been doing for the last couple of decades and some major moral compromises that have been made over the years.

In the middle of her thinking back on things, though, she'll recount a conversation with Luna from several years ago, in which Luna told her a Fairy Tale. Chapter 3 will be Luna's Fairy Tale, then we get back to what Hermione's been doing in Chapter 4.

A long chapter's fine with me. Good fic is often hard to come by.

Chapter 2 is up, though what was originally planned for Chapter 2 is now being divided into two chapters, because I want each chapter to be able to fit into a livejournal post, if possible. The length problem was because Luna and Hermione got into an argument about snorkacks, then the argument drifted into other things, and well...

So, Luna's Fairy Tale is pushed back to Chapter 4.

Finally, Chapters 3 and 4 are up, with a ship it's safe to say no one has done, before.
