Some recs for a great threesome. Not satisfied with Harry's "development" as a Hero over the last two books? Like H/L, or H/Hr, or L/Hr? Well, let's combine them.

The premise of this threesome is Hermione and Luna balance each other. There is nothing the two of them, given their different, though equally brilliant, approaches to things, can't work out. Together, they can help Harry develop into the genuine Hero he was meant to be, help him become his own man, rather than Dumbledore's unquestioning puppet, help him genuinely find the Power the Dark Lord Knows Not. Of course, considering Dumbledore, the question arises: Is Tom Riddle the true Dark Lord?

Ginny develops into a powerful witch, instead of the Damsel in Distress/Fangirl. Also, something we see a lot in H/L/Hr is the potential of Susan Bones, considering her connections and what a Hufflepuff can offer.

Warning: This writer didn't like the final book. I mean really, really, didn't like the final book. And, the writer goes into detail about it. Major ax to grind, here.

That said, the fact that it's mainly a comedy keeps the ax grinding and the over the top actions by the Threesome fun. You can't get too annoyed when part of the plot involves convincing Dumbledore of the threat of the Dark Colonel Sanders. Plus, this one, due to the issues with the final book, commits itself to solving every inconstency in the series, an effort to explain every issue. Unfortunately, this means that some chapters drag a bit with the explanations. Still though, good plot, and well written.

She waits until she's almost nine (and gets a wife in the process). Also, a Ginny that lives up to her billing.

Yeah, that has become popular. I suppose it started with a writer needing names for Hermione's parents, and thought it would be cute, with other writers liking it, as well.

A name for Luna's mum hasn't been settled on, though Selene seems to have become the most popular. If that's Luna's middle name, though, she pretty much winds up with the same first and middle name, so I always name her mum something else. I did like that writer in the last story naming her Maia, as an Earth goddess works for someone who's daughter is a Moon goddess, and it fits nicely her role in that story as a mother to Harry (Maia being a Mother Goddess), as well as being a second mother to Hermione (In myth, Maia was the mother of Hermes, and Hermione is the female form of Hermes). The Goddess also raised Arcus to protect him from those who would harm him, which Luna's mum is doing for Harry, here.

So, someone did their homework.

And another one that also falls in the Dumbledore's Cunning Plans Explode category (though he means well), is A Fist Full of Galleons by Dr. T. This one takes up after Goblet of Fire, as other forces want, for reasons of their own, to take down Voldemort. Technomagic and Monty Python homages.

Looking more into the Odd Ideas series, I've noticed that not only Luna's Hubby, but Reunion and Partially Kissed Hero spun out of it, too. Now, I'm curious about how many other fics I've read that started there.

Is the Dr. T one recent? I haven't seen him around as much lately, and he was the original go-to guy for H/Hr/L.

I like the idea of Monty Python images. That played a big part in one of my H/L fics at ff.net.

It's more recent than his stuff on FA. He posted that one in April of this year.
