When Luna showed up in OotP, I was so relieved! I had never found a girl that I thought really suited Harry, so I hadn't done much shipping for him. (I also thought he was a goner, but that's for another thread!) Then Luna showed up and really clicked with me, especially when she said she believed in him, and they ahd that wonderful bulletin board moment. So much wasted potential!
Well, this is where it all began! This is when the HP story really look n a new life (for me, anyway) with the first appearance of this adorable little oddball -- and as for wasted potential, JKR's oversight is our palette from which to craft beautiful H/L stories. As we've seen in both the media and large swaths of the fandom, there are many people out there who share our view that Luna really IS the best thing to ever happen to Harry

OotP was a definitely a turning point in the HP books by the appearance of lovely Luna. I don't think she was a wasted potential. She shined in every scene, and by the last book, her scenes won over even those who initially didn't like her.
Harry/Luna was the first Luna ship that I considered after reading OotP.

I was at Wal-Mart here in the States and I saw the book, and I flip threw it and it Landed on the Luna Lovegood Chapter. I read it, and I fell in love with her, I felt so close because it was like it was describing me when I was in school. And I took it home and read and I realize the closer she and Harry was in the book, the more I felt they were meant to be. I just love her, they way she speak to Harry and how she befriend him and how he realize the words she was saying and understood her, because she understood him. That's why I like her that much and with him as well.
